Mexico's new cable cars provide solutions for commuters
Mexico recently inaugurated the first commuter cable car in North America.
Located in a hilly, urban area north of Mexico City, the "Teleferico Mexicable" is helping to cut congestion, pollution and travel times.

Mexico City to open cable bus line to serve residents in poor neighborhoods
멕시코 관광지 케이블버스 출범, 이동 시간 대폭 단축
A new form of transportation will make its debut in Mexico City.
It's the cable bus...the first of what the city hopes will be several cable-car lines serving the poorer outskirts of Mexico's bustling capital.
As poor communities are located high up on hillsides...these cable buses are seen as a cheaper and a quicker way to give them better access to city's bus and subway lines.
Not to mention avoiding Mexico City's notoriously bad traffic.
Out of the 9-point-2 kilometer route set to be completed by June,... the part open now covers about 2 kilometers from the northern edge of Mexico City, to the nearest public transportation links.

Mexico City 🇲🇽
I am on the brand new Transportation of Mexico City called the CABLE BUS. This will help people in the blue collar areas to connect to the metro train to get to work safely and quickly.
I was excited to try this transportation out since I saw these cable buses built in Medellin Colombia and in Brazil to connect the favellas (slums) to the city.
I had just come from a visit to Barber Day in the North of Mexico City, and since I was nearby to this transportation, I made sure to try it out.

The so-called Mexicable consists of 190 cars which can carry 10 people each. The cable cars carry passengers over the suburbs to outside the country's capital and connects them with other public transport.

I Rode the Longest Public Cable Car in the World (and got a big surprise at the end)!
Wow! This was truly a fascinating experience - right off the beaten tourist trail in Mexico City and it was worth every peso I can tell you!
I found out about the City's claim to fame when I was researching things to do in the capital and it just so happened that when I looked up the Cablebus system on Wikipedia, line 2 really is the longest public cable car in the world. Well I just had to try it then didn't I!
We'll have a ride from end to end, starting at Constitucion de 1917, changing gondolas at Xalpa and ending up at Santa Marta to the east. I'll tell you how to do it, what to see and how much it costs. Then maybe if you're in Mexico City one day, you too can do something a little different to the norm!
